As I approach the 24th Journey Into Sacred Expression women's retreat in Guatemala this August, I ask myself why do I gather women together? Why am I on my tenth year of gathering women together in a circle?
These days, there are so many retreats. There is no dearth of offerings. And there is no lack of things to be concerned about in the world. At moments it can feel like a pressure cooker where you are not even able to afford the luxury of your authenticity. Aren't there more pressing matters than the frivolity of being, or bringing forth more of, who you are?
Not to me.
To me, nothing is more important than encouraging each human being to be, to show up, and to live as authentically YOU as you can. Whatever that means, whatever it looks like. I fundamentally feel if we validated our inner truthfulness and bringing ourselves forth into the world from that place - from our presence, our quirks, our gifts, our sensitivities, our dreams, our soulful needs and desires - we'd be living in a different world.
One that did not regularly trade in emotional, mental, physical, natural and spiritual wealth for abstract values and things.
And if we connected more deeply within ourselves, if we valued what we each carry within us, if we lived in harmony with our real power, and interacted moment-to-moment from our truth, we would cultivate a different vibration of beingness. One of remembrance. Every woman who embodies that, matters.
In the Journey Into Sacred Expression Women's Retreat happening on August 15-24, 2024, I will not seek only to provide you with an experience through the writing and movement and sharing and ceremonies that we do together, though I certainly do curate a journey and experience for you. The magical energies of Lake Atitlan will pour into your journey and your heart.
What I wish is that our time together opens a spaciousness and turns a key which changes how expansively you are willing to experience yourself and your life. That helps you remember, each time you need to, how to come back home within and to know you have a circle of women behind you, willing you to be nothing more - and certainly nothing less - than all you are.
We gather like this because we each matter. I would love to meet you in the circle this summer. If it's even winking at you, please let me know. I am happy to talk about how to get you there.
Love,
Aimee
